IS THE MALE, SUPPOSE TO ALWAYS BE, THE " HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD ", REGARDLESS ????

During a time , when women are working full time jobs,  not including her other job descriptions, like being a mommy, a wife, taking care of the Household , etc,  is there ever a time, when her partner should step aside, or better yet, step down, because she is bringing more into the household, or doing more ?

Just imagine  a women  such as Michelle Obama , with all her credentials coming home  to a man who isn't making the digits , that she's bringing in from work , or who may-not be as talented and skilled, calling the shots at home and in the relationship. Should a woman continue to stand back because she is a female, or as some may say, stay in a woman's place , just because he is a MAN ? Is there such a thing as a " Man's Worth " , or is a man entitled "just because" he is a man ?

Is this mindset to blamed for  most successful  black women,   never being married, or is it that most men are intimidated, by a successful woman and   don't want to acknowledge, the need to take a back seat, when it's time ?

PARTNERS do NOT STEP ASIDE OR STEP DOWN ... THEY WORK TOGETHER .......

Does "Affluence" or The MONEY you make ......... make you BETTER than your "PARTNER"?

My Feelings on the "TERM" Head Of Household" is MERELY the STATUS on a TAX FORM ....... there IS NO GENDER Specific Title Holder ........

Just "MY" Opinion .....

Thanks Big Paws, for the reply, but in some relationships working together is only on certain levels.  Working together always seems pretty popular when it comes to money . If most relationships were based on working together as partners, then a lot of couples would still be together. If that partner isn't paying the plumber, then he can't hired, the most expensive plumber in town. If that partner didn't pay the gardener, for his services the last time, then he can't hire him again, promising to pay, back pay, this is when the leader steps in (Head Of Household) lol . Being the Leader entails more responsibilities, not just the label of being a "MAN", and you're right, " there  is NO GENDER Specific Title Holder ", but , most Men, will feel entitled because they are...

This is when "Head of household does his job ... NOT to pay the most expensive plumber in town $200+ to fix a leaky faucet that only costs $.35 in parts and 10 minutes to fix .....
Or PAY A Gardener to do work that SHOULD BE DONE BY THE FAMILY ... just because ya got money to throw at tasks that CAN BE HANDLED WITHOUT THROWING MONEY AT IT DOES NOT MAKE YA QUALIFIED TO BE TITLE HOLDER ...... IF YOU DO HAVE IT LIKE THAT ..... YA GONNA GET What ya PAY FOR .... AND SINCE YA CAN PAY FOR EVERYTHING TO BE DONE ...... YOU DON'T NEED A PARTNER .... OR A HUSBAND ..... MONEY DON'T MAKE A PERSON RIGHT .....
JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY ...... WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT A MAN TO DO IF YOU TOLD HIM TO STEP ASIDE OR STEP DOWN BECAUSE YOU WERE TAKING OVER ???
NO COMMENT, LOL !

HAHAHAHAH

HA !

I didnt think so ........

Running >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>out the door !

Naw , i can't leave it like that , I wouldn't tell a man to step down or aside, i would expect him to talk to me before he jumped ahead of me, especially if i had to fund it, and i would do the same for him if he funded  it. You're right " money don't make a person right ", but , it don't make them automatically wrong, because they want to know what's going on before it's done. Another thing, some men don't have the talent , to fix a faucet , or  cut grass, lol !

In discussions such as this I tend to use MYSELF as an Example ...... dont ask me why ..... but it's probably because of the way That I Personally would handle any given situation .....

Example ...... i would expect him to talk to me before he jumped ahead of me, especially if i had to fund it,

???????????????????????????????????????????????

GRRRRRRRRRRRR..............

Well said bro.

The amount of dollars that a woman brings into the household is not the measure of her worth. When you are a part of a family, man or woman you are working together as one.
Traditionally, the man has been the Head of the House Hold in every aspect, but today, and it's changing standards, and structures, of relationships, you're looking at it differently, depending on that couple.  The logical way is to work together, but not every man or woman is looking at it like that. Not every man appreciate, or accept a woman making more money than he do, and not every woman making more than her man, is going to accept  the  male dominating, every decision being made. Relationships that have lasted a life time (i bet) was based on working together, but with today's  changing time , relationships are looked at differently according to each  couple , and what works, for them . I just don't feel that a male is entitled , just because he is the man.
It's not that she changed in any way, it's the fact that he still believe that he suppose to call out the shots, just because he is the male.
Yes I beleive the male should always be the head of the household but it seems like the more the woman do the more disrespected the man gets. Its hard to be submissive when you have been the head of the family while the male was absent.
