"Get into the Know"
The Black woman's transformation, from Queen, through the Jim Crow Era, then after, wasn't an easy one (putting it lightly). Their integration into society was one of uncertainty, fear, and humiliation, but through it all , she's still standing.
How many times have i heard " that's why i'm with a white woman, because black women are to mean, and hateful, " coming from a black man , but yet , for these same reasons , white men are attracted ,to the black women.
After stepping into Foriegn Shores, and taking on the Status as "Property", which was enforced with violence, and rape, the character of any being, undergoing such misery will change. That pressure made the African American Woman, a strong, independent, selfsufficient powerhouse.
African women were capable and ingenious (the same as today), whether they were inside or out of slavery's tenacious grasp. Having a wide variety of different roles, their means of survival, as well as freedom for themselves, and those who follow, was paramount. Enslaved women took part in every important fight against slavery, in the same intensity that they now use in their communities, in politics, in their businesses, their homes, and with family.
Where as (most) White Women, have always had the security of a husband, and innate privileges, that allowed them to enjoyed, and grow with society, we (on the other hand) could only image, what these privileges and security would bring us. With some enslaved women, just a pinch, of her master's, wife's privileges , allowed them to give in to demeaning sexual acts, with the slave owners, just to get a piece of perfume, or soap etc., meant everything, while the white woman admired that strong stature of a man, that hard labor and abused configured. Can't you see, don't you understand, why and how, that black woman, became that strength, and force that most black men now reject.
The Black Woman, is " The Mother of ALL Civilization " , and although time, and a lack of, has produced many unfortuate scenarios for the Black Woman, we still know how to make a way, out of no way. We took the scraps, that we were given, for food and made it out of a delicacy, we took the rags , that we were given, and made gowns , we took that master's overtures, and unwanted advances, and got supplies for our children, and through it all , we survive.
The Self made woman, is the Black Woman, she is the one who wrote the book on survival skills, it is to her, you will have to come back to, when your weak fortress cracks, then crumbles to pieces..
We still have many obstacles to break down, but, just like our ancestors " AND STILL
